Powerwall is a tesla home battery that provides energy storage capabilities, allowing you to protect your home from power outages automatically while giving you more independence from the grid. In a nutshell, this device charges from electricity generated in solar panels or when your electric company’s energy rates are low.
Powerwall comes in 10 kWh weekly cycle and 7 kWh daily cycle models. Both are guaranteed for ten years and are sufficient to power most homes during peak evening hours. Multiple batteries may be installed together for homes with greater energy need, up to 90 kWh total for the 10 kWh battery and 63 kWh total for the 7 kWh battery.
Power companies charge more for electricity during the evening, but Powerwall trumps the system by using the leftover lower-priced energy from the day during those peak times.
