Ramen noodles are affordable, they’re quick and easy to prepare and they’re tasty in that way that things we know aren’t healthy for us often are.
But watch this video and you might well reconsider just how viable they are as a go-to snack when you’re pushed for time. In the footage, we see how Ramen noodles refuse to be broken down by the stomach even after two hours. This is thanks to a preservative called tertiary-butyl hydroquinone (or TBHQ to its friends). It extends shelf-life but unfortunately it also makes the stuff practically invulnerable to our poor stomachs.
