Numerous rows of razor-sharp teeth. A killer thirst for blood. Fins for easy hunting. It’s no wonder why sharks are considered so dangerous and scary, but with Shark week fast approaching what do we have to look forward to? Though they may not be as fierce and awesome as your favorite Jaws or Sharknado counterparts, there are a number of shark breeds that are amazing to watch.Take the swell shark (aka Cephaloscyllium ventriosum) for instance. This breed of shark glows in its watery domain from a protein within its skin that glows a vivid green when activated by blue light. We may not be able to observe this light display, but these sharks use filters in their eyes to see a whole new world of color beneath the depths.Though they may not be incredibly violent, the swell shark still packs a bioluminescent punch. Now if only they could have sharks with lasers.
