SPOILER AHEAD! Game of Thrones Season 6 Teaser Is A Parade Of Bloody Memories
What better way to light the burner under our already-feverish anticipation for the sixth season of HBO’s legendary GAME OF THRONES than reliving every wrenching tragedy we’ve flinched at witnessing over the five years hence?
First, just let this teaser begin with a sigh-of-relief reveal that Jon Snow most definitely lives, accompanied by Max von Sydow’s resonant narration: “We watch, we listen, and we remember. The past is already written. The ink is dry.”
Oh, is it ever.
Chase that acknowledgement with a montage of Snow’s own assassination, Ned Stark being beheaded in a manner befitting a Sean Bean character, the deaths of Rob and Catelyn Stark at the Red Wedding, the fatal poisoning of King Joffrey, Jaime Lannister losing a hand, and the blinding of Arya Stark, among other memories.
Since the series is set to chronologically surpass George R.R. Martin’s novels on which the series is based, the Bran’s caution that “They have no idea what’s going to happen” is the most ominous Captain Obvious declaration of all, but that doesn’t relieve us of the pins and needles we’ll be waiting on until GAME OF THRONES returns this April. Season 6 premieres in April, 2016.
