Truck drivers just can’t seem to catch a break these days. Most of their vehicles are capped out at certain speeds because they are carrying vital product for the companies they drive for, but that doesn’t stop people from making dangerous lane changes every day. Instead of racking up a body count, Samsung has come up with a controversial idea for semis that are slowing down the flow of traffic.

In countries with extremely hazardous one-lane roads, casualties of driving seem to multiply. Samsung’s proposal is to put a video display on the back of a large truck that shows what is happening in front of the truck. This way, if you need to pass up the truck you can see if someone is coming or not.

While this seems like a good idea, are we really supposed to believe that Samsung only wants to promote driver safety with no advertising-related scheme underneath it all?
