If you have balloons and flash paper on you, beware; they are no match for defending yourself against the power of this incredible 40 watt laser home-built by styropyro is put together from eight 5 watt lasers mounted with the beams focused into a giant heatsink powered by a huge battery. While this DIY homemade mega laser will probably burn out your retinas, it’s not exactly strong enough to be shooting planes out of the sky just yet.
To put things into perspective, while this is a total of 40 watts of pure light power, Lockheed Martin Lockheed Martin’s portable laser is 30-kilowatt (that’s 30,000) electric fiber laser, the highest power ever fired. This is still pretty cool though. Imagine putting this laser on a sharkhead?
