Raijin is the Thunderdome of Yamaha Drum Kits You Will Ever See

Welcome to THUNDERDOME! One man enters, no one leaves.

Playing the drums can be something of a workout at times and if you want to make some cool beats while getting huge forearms, it’s definitely a worthwhile investment.

But imagine if you were standing inside a giant spherical cage of drums and able to hit them (and symbols) in any direction at any time.

That’s precisely what you would get with Yamaha’s incredibly ‘full body drum kit’ which is something of an experiment but definitely a very cool one. It’s basically like doing 360 degree kung fu and making awesome music as you do it.

How did this come about? Reportedly the instrument was the result of Yamaha switching their motorcycle and instrument teams. So the guys who normally make the bikes were now making drum kits…

This is how the awesome instrument came into being and how it earned the name ‘Raijin’ which means ‘God of Thunder’. There is no other way to rock quite as hard as Thor himself.

The question is though, what did the music team do while working on motorbikes? Presumably they weren’t given that job… Or is there a motorcycle made out of symbols on the cards??
