Mysterious Worm-Like Creature Pulled From Sea Is Causing The Internet To Freak Out

Described as a “green snot monster”, a Taiwanese fisherman named Wei Cheng Jian who was fishing in the port of Penghu in Taiwan has caught this green worm-like creature with an really long pink tongue.  Not sure what this creature is, he posted it to youtube to get some insight from people.

While most people have no idea what it is, the consensus is that it is a species of ribbon worm or Nemertea. Ribbon works are flat and skinny usually reaching lengths of about 20 centimeters long (7.9 Inches), however, this snot monster is an incredible 54 meters long (177 Inches). Its been reported they can reach up to 60 meters long which is bigger than a blue whale! They are usually found on the bottom of ocean floors in freshwater in the tropics and subtropics.

The pink thing that is jutting out is called a proboscis that is used to paralyse the prey before feeding on it.
