Titan is the largest of Saturn’s 62 moons and is actually larger than many planets – including Mercury. It has a thick nitrogen atmosphere that conceals huge hydrocarbon lakes. It’s an incredibly mysterious object and there’s a small possibility it could be home to life.
Now NASA has shared plans for a submarine that could theoretically travel 2,000 kilometers under the ocean during a 90-day mission. We don’t know when or if a mission like this would ever take place but the fact that NASA are even thinking about it is just incredibly exciting.
