Interactive Holograms You Can Actually Touch. One-Step Closer To Star Trek Holodeck.
Holograms. You’ve imagined the out-of-this-world technology since you were a kid watching Princess Leia explain how Obi-Wan was her only hope. Could we really create good holograms to simulate this effect? Actually it’s been done before. Tupac ...
Tupac came back from the dead in his holographic comeback, Mariah Carey managed a holographic performance to perform at 5 concerts at the same time, and even will.i.am has been in hologram form.
Researchers at Digital Nature Group are creating 3-d interactive holograms using lasers, mirrors, and cameras. They call these special points of light voxels, and they’re emitted by plasma. These images are safe to the touch and could lead the way in creating more vivid 3-d images. While these touchable holograms may be on a smaller scale, just imagine what more research could do with this technology.
