Alice Through The Looking Glass Funko Pop! Vinyls Debut As Cute & Whimsical As Ever
Alice’s work is never done. Our dear Miss Kingsleigh is once more bound for Underland, and Funko has a brand-new incoming series of six Pop! Vinyl figurines arriving this May to mark Disney’s worldwide premiere of the trippy live-action ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS in theaters worldwide.
The feature reunites Mia Wasikowska, Johhny Depp, Stephen Fry, Helena Bonham Carter, Michael Sheen, the late Alan Rickman in one of his final performances and more alumni from director Tim Burton’s very…”Burton-esque” 2010 hit to follow Alice (Wasikowska) on her descent into madness to rescue Depp’s mad, mincing Hatter. Burton isn’t calling the shots this time around, but judging from the trailer, replacement director James Bobin has retained all of his predecessor’s weird and wonderful whimsy.
That is to say, we could describe the style any number of ways, but we aren’t sure we’d detour to “cute”. Be that as it may, that’s exactly the direction Funko naturally chooses and these collectibles with signature Pop! Vinyl oversized heads and adorable beady eyes are indeed downright precious. For this run, Funko has immortalized Alice with her more mature red-and-black ensemble, Depp’s decidedly less colorful and more “mature”-looking Mad Hatter, Sheen’s harried white rabbit McTwisp, Fry’s inscrutable Cheshire cat Chessur, Sacha Baron Cohen’s stately Time, and Bonham Carter’s manic Red Queen, Iracebeth.
Look for the ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS Funko Pop! Vinyls in stores and online this May. While you’re at it, look for Alice’s next adventure in theaters everywhere May 26.
